4 little penguins

Alternately titled: Hanieh and Williams wedding! Congrats to my beautiful Sister in Law and her new husband!

Everything was beautiful and went off without a hitch....except for Brian who didn't walk down the aisle without some help from an usher!

The beautiful bride and her groom

I love this pic...wish it was clearer! Look at Brian peeking around his brothers....so cute!

Little ring bearers.

Prince Charming walks his sister down the aisle!!

This is the boy's GG (Great Gramma) and her friend.
Brian says: "oh boy, no more pictures please!"

Field Trip #2---A SkyFari

We went all the way to Omaha, Nebraska for field trip #2....to the Omaha Zoo.
The Zoo would have been worth it all on it's own (an awesome zoo--you should go), but luckily we didn't have to turn around and make the 7 1/2 hour trip back after our adventure. We actually went up there to see friends (some we haven't seen since we moved) and to spend the weekend with them. But since we were up there we figured another field trip was called for.

It was a CRAZY day...which is generally how things go when I'm with my friend C and our combined 7 (almost 8) kids....We saw the awesome aquarium and then gave into the whining and begging and took a ride on the new "SkyFari", which is basically a ski lift that takes you from the front of the zoo all the way to the back. It was slightly stressful to have an 18 month old on a ski lift above dangerous animals, but not quite as stressful as the rain, thunder, and lightning that began right at the end of the "lift"...The zoo of course promptly shut down the ride and left us stranded (with no stroller) at the furthest point away from our car in the pouring....I mean POURING rain. C and I took turns carrying Brian while walking, running, and even doing a little bit of dancing in the rain....We decided most moms would have been upset, maybe even a little angry at the situation...but one of the things that makes C and I friends is our ability to make the best of any situation...and we had a BLAST! Thanks for a great day C!

Before the rain....look at all those sweet smiles....we didn't actually get any after pictures...which is a good thing...we weren't looking very good!

Wordless Wednesday-pink blanket

Brian is slightly attatched to his blanket(s) (aka: Dee Dee). I have worked really hard to make sure he is attatched to SEVERAL Dee Dee's so that we won't be in big trouble if we lose one. Apparently that has transfered over to being attatched to any and every blanket he finds....even pink ones....poor Kate....her things are being taken even before she is here to defend herself!....But how cute is he???

Happy Birthday Alex!

#1 turned the big #8 this month....I just can't believe it...Every year I say, "Wow he's already 1,2,3,4,5,6,7....and now 8!!!"...that just seems so BIG! Time sure does fly!!!!

Happy Birthday big boy! We love you Alex!

Not Me! Monday! Swimming (and Dancing) in a speedo...

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

The two big boys have not joined a swim team this summer. They are not having a really great time and are not becoming awesome swimmers! My favorite part is not their cute little butts in the speedos....and their favorite part is not getting ribbons! Nick didn't win two first place ribbons and two second place ribbons and Alex didn't win a first, second, and third place ribbon! We are not thinking of adding a trophy room onto our house! :)

I also did not catch Nick dancing like a goofball in his speedo during his first meet!!!!!

Wordless Wednesday

I'm never really wordless.....at least on wordless wednesday.

Here is my smiley Nick in his baseball uniform....A baseball uniform is pretty much all my boys wear these days.....always in a baseball uniform going from one game to the next....but oh how cute their little butts are in those baseball pants.......

and I thought I might not mention---(but of course, I will) how many times I have washed and dried and washed and dried and washed and dried each of their uniforms....And if you remember this post, you'll know that the uniforms just get thrown in with the rest of the wash (regardless of color).....
Don't tell my mom :), but I've even gotten to the point that I no longer take the belt out of the pants....(which I have to say is VERY LOUD in the dryer)......But if you have boys and have ever tried to get those belts (which are ALWAYS too big for the beltloops) onto a wiggly boys waist you totally understand!

Summer Field Trip #1 Tanks, Guns, and Firetrucks

One of my very favorite things about summer is exploring the city we live in.... I drag the boys to museums of all kinds...from children's museums to natural history museums, as well as the zoo, hiking trails, fishing holes, beaches, local farms, and anything else I can find.

Because of the fact we have lived in 4 different cities and 3 different states in the last 7 years, there has been a lot of new "stuff" to see and experience. This is our first real summer back in our "hometown" and I figured we should explore here just like we did when we moved to those other cities....So every week the boys and I are going to take a field trip to someplace new..(or not so new)....and learn something about our great state...

Our first field trip was to the 45th Infantry Museum and The Firefighter's Museum. The 3 big boys were completely enthralled by the 45th Infantry Museum. Of course they loved all the tanks and planes and the guns and weapons, but they were even more interested in the history! It was so much fun to see the interest they took in all of it....The museum director was so excited about their exctiment that he gave them a little private tour and let them hold one of the guns that is normally kept behind glass.

After leaving the 45th Infantry Museum we went down the street to the Firefighters Museum. They took an audio tour and really like learning about the history of firefighting ....and of course they loved looking at all the old firetrucks and firesuits.

These boys never cease to amaze me....There is nothing more exciting than watching your children in action learning about their world.

Here are a few pics of our first adventure.....we can't wait to see where our internet city guide will take us this week!

100 days

My sidebar countdown with the spinning and twirling baby says it will be 100 days until I meet my little girl. (I'm hoping it will be a few less days, but nonetheless, it feels like it's getting close).....Yet still so far away. I'm nervous, anxious, and excited. I just can't wait for her to be here and to be safe in my arms. I read about and pray for so many other women in the blogosphere who have sick or dying children and sometimes I can't believe how blessed I am to have 4 healthy, smart, beautiful, wonderful sons and a daughter on the way. Praise be to God!

So since this is a big day....the downhill slide towards meeting our little girl/little sister....I thought I would let y'all know the name we have decided upon for our little princess.....
Katherine Elizabeth
(Kate)
We think it fits well with the boys names, and as my best friend says....it will look beautiful on a wedding invitation!...☺
So praises for a healthy pregnancy, healthy baby, and for my ever growing belly....that is starting to move when she kicks!.....and if you have a moment I would covet your prayers for a continued healthy pregnancy and baby!
Happy 100 days to go baby Kate!

We are the Champions, my friend......

And we'll keep on fighting, to the end
We are the champions,
We are the champions,
No time for losers, cause we are the champions..........
Of the World Moore, OK 5 and under t-ball tournament.

Our little midget guy and his teammates won their first tournament this past weekend....Nathan played left field, stopped lots of balls, and even threw out a kid at second base. He got a couple of doubles and hit pretty well......we are so proud of him....he slept with his trophy last night and has been polishing it all day with a wet rag....so cute!

click on the photos to enlarge....

Nathan is the short one....third from the left.☺. To be fair, he is the youngest on the team by up to a year and a half......
